Eh... I also get 200 for question 3. Here's my explanation:

ReplyDeleteMake 3 : 8 become 3p : 8p

Make 2 : 5 become 2u : 5u

There are 5u - 2u = 3u less boys than girls.

3u --> 960

1u --> 960 ÷ 3 = 320

2u --> 320 X 2 = 640

There are 640 boys.

7u --> 320 X 7 = 2240

There are 2240 children.

8p --> 2240

1p --> 2240 ÷ 8 = 280

3p --> 280 X 3 = 840

There are 840 adults.

840 - 640 =

200more adults than boys.There is an alternate method I used to check my answer, but I will post it tomorrow.

Answer to Q1 is 417
