What do you see in this?

This is a home-made candle. The coloured grains that you lined the base of the short glass (purchased from IKEA) is fine salt mixed with acrylic paint. A candle wick is added before hot melted candle gel is poured in. The candle gel hardens when cooled.

If this ornamental candle were to remind you of someone, who would it be? Why? Share your thoughts :)

  1. The fine salt would remind me of the different people on earth living in choas because of war and now it has mixed them up, the way we are living in now. The candle gel would be the parliments of each country trying to solve the problems in their country to make it hold together. And the short glass would be the earth holding it's people in it, beautiful but fragile.

  7. It reminds me of many quarrels that I had every other day. It also repersents that there will be a win-win situation if one uses his/her mind to think and get out of trouble that oneself or others have caused.

  8. i see a glass, um, it reminds me of life as its fragile, i also see salt mixed with acrylic paint, it reminds me of singapore and earth, mixed with either countries or different races. i also see a candle wick added with hot melted candle gel poured in it(hardened), it reminds me of time, once hardened never to return. i also see a computer in the background, it reminds me of the world outside where nobody really notices.
but altogether, they remind me of family, united as one.

  9. It would remind me of my friends who help me with work or other things. I am like the candle, without grains or the glass, the candle cannot stand and light up the place.

  10. Glass is fragile, coloured paint is equal to the mixture of people and the salt is like the cause of unpleasant things like war. In a jar, it is now...EARTH.

  12. Without the wax, the candle won't burn for a long time. Without the coloured sand, the whole thing won't look as nice. All this things that are together form a really nice candle. All this things are the very things that make our live special. They all represent people that we treat as our friends. They could also be our family members.

  13. If this ornamental candle were to remind me of someone, it would be Singapore. The fine salt will be like the contributements and the little things that build up the advanced Singapore. See?
The things or contributements could be small, but it leaves a great impact on it. Without every part of it, it would not be as beautiful as it is now.

  14. Im just like that plain wax without colours. Friends, teachers and parents light up my life. Scoldings and praising provided me a proper learning and it would not be as beautiful as it is now.

  15. Each and every individual is like the candle that may not last for a long time, but it shines(eg.forgive,help). for both its friends and foes. When we 'shine' for both our foes and friends, our lives too will become more colourful and happy.(fine salt mixed with acrylic paint). So even though our live MAY not last for a long time, making the best ou of life is the most important.

  23. The light from the candle helps one to see in the dark and is very important to someone who needs it.I too want to play my part in this society and be as much of a help I can be and help people by providing them with the best I can.To do so, the first step that I have to take is to excel in education. And definately, the candle reminds me of the teachers pushing the students forward to strive for the best and light up and shine as brightly as possible.

  25. It reminds me of Time which never stops. It gets shorter and shorter. The wax reminds me of everything that delays the Time. Sands that are held in place by the gel reminds me that the obstacle has come for me to face it. In a way, the gel is like my mother and the teachers.
